Xbox 360 PC Controller And Game Profiler

Better Living With The Pinnacle Game Profiler

I recently got excited about Microsoft's PC Gaming Initiative. Of course to make progress you have to break eggs and apparently wallets too. Enter the Xbox 360 controller for Windows, with exciting cross over games streaming onto shelves it's becoming a necessity.

How I Choose A Game To Review

If I had fans, I imagine they would have questions.

Some might want to know how I go about creating PC video game reviews.
One in particular might be how i go about choosing a game in the first place.

Another Week Another Blown Deadline

Whoa Lookie Here!
Another glorious week has blown by and I have failed yet again to deliver my highly anticipated (at least by me anyway) Assassins Creed review. And although I have suffered greatly during this time, I still survive!

Life Without Cheat Codes

Random acts Of Violence
As I may have previously posted (How should I know, I write it more than I read it.) I am currently reviewing Assassins Creed. While things are progressing, the pace in painstakingly slow. To cheer myself along I have descended into homicidal rampaging.

Dirty Underwear Of Game Reviews

Just doing a bit of late night reading and came across a good find on Arts Technica. There's a great article which outlines the pitfalls of trying to run a review site. Specifically it talks about how subtle publishers use their influence to corrupt game reviews. There is even mention of reviewers being given crib notes about how to do their work.

The Slow Road To Content

Just two reviews have been completed since i started this project but i have learned much along the way. There have been some serious pitfalls that I just did not anticipate. The technology behind the site is problematic at times but not exactly a cause of great concern or an impediment to the creation of reviews. Here are some of the things I have to battle with in order to get these reviews out

Multiplicity From Stardock

After struggling for a bit trying to figure out how best to use my available equipment, i stumbled upon  a sweet application. Multiplicity from stardock enables me to use one keyboard to control both my laptop and my gaming workstation. What this means is now i can use my dual monitors to control each of my machines seamlessly. This allows for me to totally submerge myself in a game with fullscreen mode and still be able to peck out a  review at the same time. Pretty nifty!

One Step Closer

Today was another miserable day of twidling with drupal it's not the core modules that are causing me pain it's all the nifty addons i am struggling with. I decided to use drupal as my back end instead of using straight HTML which was an alternative i was toying with for a while but finally decided against. My main problem now is getting images to play nice with the articles.

A Work In Progress

If your brave enough to visit this site in the next couple of months you are sure to find that it is in a constant state of flux. Cruelgamer.com is a new site and your in on the ground floor. My aim is to give honest editorials about the latest PC games.
