Sporn - Any Publicity Is Good Publicity For Spore?!

Looks like another incident of hot coffee except this time it's just a knee jerk reaction to harmless fluff. One of my loyal readers sent in this link from CNN. Apparently a few people are making naughty with their copy of Spore Creature Creator (Read My Review) and the games publisher Electronic Arts has jumped into damage control mode. Thats good of them, responsible EA is taking charge and vowing to clean up the act by having these troublesome creations outlawed on YouTube. Thank goodness Google is a champion of censorship, without them this entire fiasco would likely ruin the entire universe. The tether of the time space continuum is obviously at risk of being severed if this content is allowed to proliferate. It's also obvious that some sexually repressed men have nothing to do with their spore creature creator kits than to make goofy looking gonad related monsters. Oh wait the fact that the actual software has an extremely limited amount of content certainly has nothing to do with this right? Plus let me just point out even if you do make one of these so called sporn's there isnt anything you can do with them except emote and dance (At least not till the final product launches). Yea we have covered this territory before, this is clearly another marketing department ploy to make a big deal out of nothing. Any hype is good hype for these people, this is NOT another hot coffee incident. This is more like cold tea and the suckers at CNN are buying into it because frankly they dont have anything better to do. Shame on our "news media" GOD forbid they actually find some real news to report on rather than being shills for EA's marketing machine. And if you think im over reacting and it's not just another PR game, ask yourself what can you put past a company that integrates viral marketing tools into its software? If this is not just another form of viral marketing you tell me then what is it?
